Lyle Whitted

Lyle enlisted in the U.S. Army as an Infantryman in 1998 out of Salt Lake City, Utah. His duty assignments include FT Bragg, North Carolina; Camp Casey, ROK; FT Benning, Georgia; University of Washington ROTC, Fort Bliss, TX; JBLM, WA; and FT Campbell, KY. Lyle also served in various deployments around the world to support of Operation Allied Force, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom.

He and his family spent 14 of his 24 years of service in the Fort Campbell/Clarksville community. After retiring from the Army as the Command Sergeant Major of 2-502D, 2BCT, 101st Airborne Division, Lyle and his family officially made Clarksville, TN the place they call home.

Lyle earned an associate degree in General Studies through City University of Seattle and a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College. He is also a Distinguished Member of the Regiment with 2nd Brigade “Strike,” a lifetime member of the 101st Airborne Association, the VFW, and the DAV.

In addition to volunteering his services to the Montgomery County Veterans Coalition and working with local and state officials on Veteran Legislation, Lyle is also a member of the Clarksville Sunrise Rotary Club and sits on the Development Board for Operation Stand Down in Clarksville TN.
